パイポボード_Paipo Board_波乗り好きにも程がある

昨日とてもうれしいメールをいただきました。
ニューヨーク在住のアーサーさんという方からで、パイポボードが欲しいという内容でした。さっそく電話をかけてみると、若い頃に交通事故で下半身が麻痺状態になった方で、サーフィン歴５０年の大ベテランさんでした。事故にあう前はサーフィン、そして事故後はニーボード、ウェイクスキー（カヤックに乗って、ボートで引っ張ってもらう）、サーフスキー（カヤックで波にのる）をやってきています。
しかし、最近はそのハンディキャップが悪化し、波乗りから遠ざかってしまいました。そんな時にサンドルフィンの動画を見つけ、パイポボードだったらまた波に乗れるのでは？と胸に期待を抱きました。
　私の返事は即答でYES!　私はハンディキャップの方たちが好き、というかハンディキャップの方たちは勇気を与えてくれます。なので尊敬します。　それに私も兄を交通事故で亡くしているので、そのせいもあるのか、アーサーさんを海に戻してあげたいと強く思いました。そして何よりもアーサーさんの海に対する愛を感じました。
サーファーなのです。
　パイポボードは健康な方がやってももちろん楽しいですが、私も足腰にケガをしてるとき又は、ケガから復帰するときなどに、サーフィンを始める前にパイポボードでリハビリしてからサーフィンに復帰したりしています。
　これからアーサーさんと入念に打ち合わせをしてボード制作に入りたいと思います。とても楽しみです。
　こちらの動画は、以前友人に作ったロングボードが真っ二つに割れてしまったので、ノーズ部分をリシェイプしてフィンとハンドルを付けたプロジェクトのスライドショーです。

I have been Paipo boarding lately for recovery of my knee injury.

My friend let me borrow the board and it's shaped by a great surfboard shaper Midget Smith.

I really like paipo boarding because it can catch bigger wave easier and faster than bodyboard.

And I love the paipo board shaped by Midget Smith.

Paipoboard is so fun!

I'm paipoboarding lately for recovery of my knee injury.My friend let me borrow his paipoboard.It's actually shaped by Midget Smith.It catches wave so easy and I can go pretty good size like a head high to over head.But I lay down on the board,so I feel like riding double over head or triple over.That's so exciting and so fun! Pretty much I'm addicted to paipoboarding. I think I need to shape my own paipoboard. Oh yes...I will take picture of the board and upload on my blog soon.
